Quick take: EverBank is the bank formerly known as TIAA Bank (sold by TIAA in 2023 to Sixth Street and Warburg Pincus). $40B in assets, FDIC cert #34775, full 3-month through 5-year CD curve (3.40-4.10% APY on September 25, 2026, best on the 7-month), $1,000 minimum, and the trademark Yield Pledge: a marketing promise to keep money-market rates in the top 5% of competitors. Solid all-around without leading the leaderboard.
The dated rate table at the top of this page is the current sheet (DepositAccounts, September 25, 2026). Confirm current APYs directly with the bank before opening an account.
EverBank, N.A. is a federally chartered savings bank with ~$40 billion in assets, headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. The bank has roots going back to 1998 (originally Bank of Florida, then EverBank, then TIAA Bank from 2018-2023, now EverBank again).
The current owners, Sixth Street Partners and Warburg Pincus, took control in August 2023 when TIAA divested the bank to focus on its core annuity and retirement business. EverBank remains OCC-regulated, FDIC-insured, and well-capitalized.
Two product features stand out:
EverBank also offers WorldCurrency CDs, foreign-currency-denominated CDs (Euro, GBP, Mexican Peso, etc.), but those are NOT FDIC-insured against currency loss. Most retirees should ignore them.
If this rate is on your shortlist, you should also be pricing (rates checked September 24, 2026):
| Competitor | Term | APY |
|---|---|---|
| Synchrony Bank | 5-year CD | 4.35% APY |
| Marcus by Goldman Sachs | 5-year CD | 4.35% APY |
| Top A-rated MYGA carrier | 5-year MYGA | 5.50-6.05% guaranteed (public carrier rate sheets) |

The 5-year is where EverBank gets beat. Compare $250,000 over 5 years (June 2026 rates, shown for illustration; A-rated 5-year MYGAs topped out around 5.50-6.05% on October 14, 2026, public carrier rate sheets):
On top of the yield gap, the EverBank 5-year EWP is 3% of principal, $7,500 on a $250K break, vs a MYGA's declining surrender schedule (typically 7%, 6%, 5%, 4%, 3% by year). For 5-year money outside an IRA, the MYGA wins on both dimensions.
EverBank is a competent full-curve CD provider with two real differentiators: the Yield Pledge and the Bump-Up CD. The 1-year is mid-pack; the 5-year is genuinely weak vs MYGAs. If you want one bank for a full ladder and value the Bump-Up optionality, EverBank earns a spot on your shortlist. If you have 5-year money you don't need to touch, take the MYGA.

This review reflects publicly available bank rate sheets and approximate APYs as of the date stated above. CD rates change frequently, sometimes weekly, and the rates above may be stale by the time you read this. Always confirm current rates and terms against the bank's current rate sheet and disclosure documents before opening an account. FDIC insurance covers $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, per ownership category; deposits above that amount at a single bank are not insured. CDs are bank deposit products and are not sold by insurance producers; references to CDs are for comparison context only. MYGAs (multi-year guaranteed annuities) are insurance contracts, subject to surrender charges and state guaranty fund coverage rather than FDIC. Early withdrawal of a CD before the maturity date typically results in a penalty that may exceed interest earned.
