Short answer: Lincoln Financial (AM Best A, stable, affirmed 3/13/2026) sells indexed and variable universal life and its MoneyGuard hybrid long-term care line. It stopped selling guaranteed UL in June 2022, so its guarantee-first option today is WealthProtector IUL with a no-lapse rider. Unlike many carriers, Lincoln publishes IUL fact sheets with caps and loan terms.

The fixed loan pattern is the same across the sheets: from year 11, the loan is charged 3% and the collateral is credited 3%, so the net cost is zero while the policy stays in force. That is the loan design to plan retirement access around.

The guaranteed UL exit

Lincoln discontinued new sales of LifeGuarantee UL and LifeGuarantee SUL, its guaranteed universal life lines, with applications due by June 10, 2022; in-force policies were not affected (Lincoln FAQ). Its consumer page today lists only indexed UL for permanent coverage (Lincoln). If you own a LifeGuarantee policy, the guarantee in your contract still applies; what matters is paying the planned premium on time, because late or short payments shorten the guarantee. How GUL guarantees work.

COI history, stated once

Lincoln has been a defendant in cost of insurance litigation on older universal life blocks, with a nearly $110 million settlement approved in 2023 (class counsel, 10/4/2023, secondary source) and a $147 million settlement approved in 2025 (Legal Newsfeed, 6/17/2025, secondary source). Those cases concerned older UL, not today's IULs, and we found no 2020 to 2026 COI increase aimed at IUL at any carrier. What to do with a COI increase letter.

Underwriting and MoneyGuard

Lincoln's automated underwriting covers ages 18 to 60 with coverage of $2,500,000 or less, including IUL (Lincoln). For care costs, Lincoln's MoneyGuard is a hybrid life and long-term care policy, a different tool from an IUL's accelerated benefits: Lincoln MoneyGuard III review.
